Whole Armor of God

Living for two years with soldiers of the Roman army, the Apostle Paul became well acquainted with their armor. Just as Roman soldiers required physical armor to fight their battles, we Christians require spiritual armor to successfully fight ours. Each piece of Roman armor correlates to our own spiritual armor, both offensive and defensive. It's this spiritual whole-armor-of-God analogy that the church in Ephesus received, and which God has preserved for two thousand years to aid believers.
